Intelligent Comic Grading Services

Understanding the true condition of a comic requires more than a quick glance. Every book tells a story not just through its artwork, but through its paper, structure, and the subtle effects of time and handling. Our intelligent grading approach examines each of these elements carefully — from color retention and surface gloss to spine integrity, staple condition, and interior page quality — providing a clear and structured evaluation of your comic.

Instead of relying on broad or subjective impressions, each report focuses on specific, observable details. Edge wear, corner rounding, oxidation, toning, and structural stability are documented in a consistent format, allowing you to see exactly how your comic presents and why. This produces a transparent, easy-to-understand assessment that removes much of the uncertainty often associated with comic grading.

This service is designed for everyone — whether you are evaluating a single book, reviewing a collection, or simply curious about the condition of a long-held favorite. Each comic is reviewed using the same structured process, ensuring a balanced and consistent evaluation across books of all ages and conditions.

Grading Standards: Overstreet Definitions - 10-Point (0.5-10.0) Scale - Traditional Grade Designations (GD-NM/MT)

The result are detailed, readable reports that highlights the defects, the strengths, and the natural aging characteristics of your comic, giving you a clearer, more confident understanding of its condition. To order comic gradings, please email: myplace@almon.net

How It Works

View required photos Use a camera or phone to take high resolution photos. All photos must be in clear focus. Covers and interior pages including centerfold should be taken at normal 0% zoom. Staples should be taken at the highest zoom setting keeping the entire staple and staple area in the picture. The Spine photo should be taken at a very low angle while comic is horizontally flat showing the entire spine including ends. View the observation reports below for examples.
